Facility Description:

Needham Golf Club was incorporated in 1923 as a member-owned, private Wayne Stiles designed golf course uniquely situated within the Needham, MA community, offering an enjoyable experience for golfers of all skill levels. The clubhouse was newly constructed in 2011 and includes a state-of-the-art kitchen facility and gorgeous views of the golf course. The clubhouse has a function room that seats up to 150 people, outdoor ala cart seating, a grill room, the main bar, and a smaller dining area off the grill room. The Club is open ten months a year and has approximately 700 members with a waitlist.

Experience Required

Education and/or Experience:

• PGA status not necessary
• College degree preferred with a Bachelor's degree in a business-related major or Sports Management.
• 2-3 year's work experience in golf, private club setting or equivalent work experience.
• Personal and Intangibles:
• Self-Motivated, organized, personable, team work, outgoing and hospitality mindset with strong work ethic.
• Visible, approachable, attention to detail with follow-through and accountability.
• Knowledge and understanding of typical golf course procedures.
• Fully knowledgeable of all opening and closeout procedures of the Golf Pro Shop.
• Familiar with all aspects of tournament set-up, including scorecards, golf cart signs, proximities, staging area set-up and billing charges.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe working environment, with emphasis on promoting employee health and safety.

Essential Responsibilities

Job Tasks & Duties:

• Assists The Professional Staff with Pro Shop duties, starter on the 1st tee, on-course play, golf carts, bag room and driving range,
• Anticipates Members' & Guests' needs to provide the Needham Experience with exceptional hospitality and service.
• Maintains Golf Pro Shop inventory control system pertaining to physical counts of merchandise, including scorecards, tees, matches, pencils, ball marks, golf cart tags and tee sheets.
• Assists Members by providing and interpreting golf policies, rules and regulations.
• Operates Pro Shop in absence of Golf Pro Shop Attendant and Golf Professionals
• Maintains, inventories and documents records and charges for all stock items necessary for in-house club repair work.
  Accurately manages the daily opening and closing of golf operations and systems.
• Assists in the execution of tournaments and special events and be actively present on site for all Men's, Women's and Junior Club events.
• Performs starter or ranger marshal duties as needed.
• Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Golf Professionals.
